Your Questions, Answered
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most people find acupuncture very relaxing. The needles are extremely thin, and you may feel a brief sensation when a needle is inserted, followed by feelings of heaviness, warmth, tingling, or relaxation. Your comfort is always a priority throughout treatment. Some treatments are aimed towards muscle release and during these sessions there may be slight discomfort followed by instant relief. These sessions may leave you feeling a bit sore, similar to a strong workout session, with increased freedom and mobility.
What if’ I’m nervous about needles?
That's completely okay. Many people come to acupuncture feeling unsure about needles. We’ll go at your pace, talk through the process, and make sure you feel comfortable before and throughout treatment. Current patients have started their journey fearful of needles; after noticing the benefits and effects acupuncture has as well as the safe space provided they no longer are nervous.
Why do you ask about stress, sleep, digestion and emotions?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body is viewed as an interconnected system. Factors such as stress, sleep, digestion, and emotional wellbeing can influence how you feel physically and how your body responds to treatment. These questions help create a more complete picture of your health.
Still have questions? That’s completely okay.
